Researchers from the University of Heidelberg in Germany have found that even in later years, adding movement to your daily routine will have a protective effect upon your cardiovascular system.

 In studying volunteers aged 40 - 68, they found that those who had been physically active throughout their life had a  60% lower risk of being diagnosed with coronary heart disease, while those who began exercising after the age of 40 had a 55% lower risk.
