LYMPHOEDMEA and the USE of CHI EXERCISE MACHINES

If you suffer from lymphoedema you will be interested in the results of this study. Most lymph related problems can benefit from the use of a chi exercise machine. The machines work to effectively stimulate the lymphatic system, helping to release excess fluid and toxins.

THE STUDY:

In June of 2000 Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia, began a formal scientific study on the use of a Chi Exercise Machine and their effects upon lymphoedema. The specific machine used for this trial was the Chi Machine? . The study was headed by Professor Neil Pillar, team leader of the Lymphoedema Clinic of Flinders Surgical Oncology Unit.

Three groups of participants were evaluated to assess the machine?s effectiveness; a control group of 20 normal subjects, a group of 33 post surgery cancer patients suffering from chronic secondary lymphoedema, and a group of 25 patients with chronic secondary lymphoedema due to venous oedema. All groups used the machine twice a day for three weeks. During days 1-2 the machine was used for five minutes each session, on days 3-7 for eight minutes per session and on days 8-12 for 12 minutes per session.

Members of the control group lost an average of 1.32 pounds during the trial as well as losing 1.5 ounces of fluid in their legs. The second group averaged a loss of 1.33 pounds and a remarkable 11.16 ounces of fluid from their legs. They also noted less pain and tightness in their legs, a reduction in limb size and a significant decrease in skin dryness. The third group lost an average of 4.33 pounds and 14.88 ounces of fluid from their legs. They also noted significant improvements in leg symptoms including tightness, heaviness, pain and cramping, as well as a reduction in leg size and skin dryness. Members of the two groups suffering from lymphoedema also responded that their quality of life had improved.

In conclusion, it is clear from the findings of this study, as well as from the many customers with whom we have personally spoken, that the regular use of a Chi Health Device can provide measurable benefits to those suffering from lymphoedema.
